SV Kiana

Sail and Dive Whitsundays from this beautiful, 16.4metre ketch, Kiana. Below the decks Kiana is fitted out for the comfort of up to 14 guests and 3 staff. Relax in Kiana’s large roomy saloon with bar and comfortable sleeping cabins. Both the cabins and saloon are fully air-conditioned to ensure your comfort during those sultry tropical afternoons and evenings.

Above deck there’s lots of room for lounging around as the island go by or for gearing up to go diving and snorkeling. The skipper, hostess and dive instructor will ensure you enjoy the best of both worlds, sailing and diving by day, great food and a relaxed atmosphere in the evenings.

Tour Highlights and Inclusions

Kiana is fully equipped for Scuba Diving for you to easily sail (yes you can assist the crew,) and dive the Great Barrier Reef. All dive gear is included in the tour price. Kiana is fitted with a high capacity compressor on board, capable of filling 6 Scuba tanks simultaneously, so your diving is not limited by the number of tanks that can be carried.

Kiana’s Captain has extensive experience of the islands and Great Barrier Reef and will choose the locations that will give you the best experience possible for diving and snorkeling with the conditions that prevail on your trip. Visit the best dive and snorkeling site in the Whitsunday Islands, the north end of Hook Island, where you’ll discover dive sites like Luncheon Bay, Mantaray Bay and Mackerel Bay. They will take you breath away with the beautiful soft corals and diversity of marine life. Bait Reef is the choice outer reef destination in the Whitsundays. With an ban on fishing there is an abundance of diverse dive sites around Bait Reef, it is an Eden for both Scuba diving and snorkeling. The natural lagoon provides a safe haven for overnight mooring. 

Whitehaven Beach

A special stop over on Whitsunday Island offers a guided bush walk through the Whitsunday National Park and a visit to the Hill Inlet lookout where the views can only be described as spectacular. Spend the afternoon on the soft white sands of Whitehaven Beach. 

Important Information for Scuba Diving

We have a passion to show you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and National Parks so please make sure you understand the SCUBA diving laws.

Queensland, Australia has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world but also the safest scuba diving record.   We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with a

ll rules including medical as is the law.

To avoid disappointment on your day of travel we strongly recommend that all of our passengers complete our dive medical questionnaire prior to booking as some medical conditions, age and / or medications may prevent you from scuba diving.

Flying and Scuba Diving

After a single no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive. For multiple dives you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive.  If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive.  We recommend waiting a minimum 24 hours whenever possible.
